 TRADES WELCOME!

This Selmer Centered Tone clarinet made in 1955 is the famous clarinet that was marketed as “The Large Bore Jazz Clarinet” and “Benny Goodman’s Clarinet.”

Only around one hundred of these clarinets were ever made, so she's a rare one.

This clarinet is in great condition and has no signs of cracking or showing its age at 70 years old. It features a tapered bore and large tone holes for a clear centered tone throughout all registers. It plays great on older pads.

Research shows that the difference between this one and other Center Tone clarinets is the Grenadilla wood body, the solid silver keys, a .570" bore, undercut tone holes, reversed cone bore, 17 keys, 6 rings and the deep engravings on the gilded belland the lower joint.

The bore is similar to the Selmer Series 9 star bore. The silver plated keywork is excellent and very quiet. These Selmer Paris Omega models were made to compete with the Buffet R13. This clarinet came from our repair technician and is ready to play.
