The truth is simple: students don't want to practice when their instrument is difficult to play. We are here to fix that.

Andrew Cleaver's journey with BWB began as a teacher, not a retailer. After decades as a professional saxophonist and educator, he saw a common problem: talented students were sometimes struggling. Not because they lacked ability or dedication, but because they were playing instruments that made success unnecessarily difficult.
He began researching and testing affordable instruments with my students, especially those who did not have access to expensive professional equipment. The results were clear: when students had an instrument that responded easily, played in tune and gave them confidence, they practiced more. When they practiced more, they improved. And when they improved, they discovered the joy of becoming musicians.
That philosophy became the foundation of Brevard Winds & Brass.
Working directly with our manufacturing partners over the last seven years, we developed custom specifications for select instruments, including saxophone neck designs, key positioning, key guards, finishes and other details that improve playability, reliability and beauty. These instruments are not simply selected from a catalog. They are refined through years of experience as a performer, teacher and instrument evaluator.
Many of our custom instruments allow students to personalize their instrument with options such as personal logos, finishes, engravings and serial numbers. This creates something powerful: ownership. When students feel connected to their instrument, they are more likely to care for it, pick it up and practice.
Today, Brevard Winds & Brass offers professional custom and name-brand saxophones, brass instruments, clarinets, flutes, mouthpieces, reeds and accessories. We work with trusted factories, professional repair technicians and top-tier musicians to provide instruments that are dependable, playable and affordable.
